I saw a reference to the SELinux Policy Editor (seedit) project today. It’s purpose is to make it easier to deploy SELinux (Security Enhanced Linux)….those of you who have tried know what a pain that can be. SELinux provides Mandatory Access Controls to Linux operating systems and was written by the NSA. If you want to build a really secure Linux system, Mandatory Access Control should be part of your strategy. The Fedora project includes SELinux by default in its releases. I haven’t tried it yet but intend to give it a shot on an Ubuntu system I am building.
