Position: Senior Network Engineer #1006
Location: MA
We are recruiting Senior Network Engineers to support the growth of our technical team. This is a customer facing position, working on various network and server projects for accounts. The majority of projects will be located in Southern New England. There are multiple locations available that have a specific geographic focus (Southern MA and RI).
The ideal Engineer will have MCSE and network management experience. Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably in a project environment or as a Senior Engineer. Applicant must have field experience and a demonstrated ability to adapt and solve problems as well as the ability to think creatively and come up with real world solutions for our customers.
Engineers are responsible for:
• Carrying out network installations, network upgrades, and consulting projects
• Working with Project Managers to oversee and manage all aspects of a network project
• Network completion and documentation GreenPages customers
• Answering sales inquiries and discussing upgrades, and connectivity issues with potential customers
• Performing server hardware upgrades as needed
• Researching scalability of existing PC’s and contributing articles to the GreenPages Knowledge Base
• Keeping up-to-date on network operating systems including Novell, 2000, 2003 and other related protocols
The successful candidate must possess a solid foundation of knowledge of networking technologies and service delivery processes. This position requires some travel, superior attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to resolve routine conflicts. Business planning, project management and leadership skills are a must. Additional certifications from HP, Cisco, Sonicwall, Fortinet, or other leading technologies are a plus.
