Remotely viewing a PC monitor

Those of you that work with government security (especially physical) know about Van Eck or Tempest monitoring. PC Monitors give of electromagnetic radiation These emissions can be picked up and converted to images. This makes it possible to “see” what is on a monitor by capturing the emissions with an antenna.

Here is an example of what is possible:

That picture shows a system that is capturing what is on a PC monitor about 75 feet away. More information on this demonstration can be found here. This type of technology used to be limited to Government agencies because of the expense. Technology of today allows this to be done MUCH cheaper than before.
